Nautilus for Windows 7 by Nittiyh Nautilus for Windows 7 by Nittiyh
Have a lil fun with your computer and give it a cool, flat look!

As usual, please read the install notes very carefully- I checked about a thousand times to make sure that all the steps were correct, so if you follow them, you shouldn't run into any trouble.

Better shots: Nautilus. Nautilus Grey. Planisphere V2.

Wallpapers: Goodbye by ~Zim2687, When evening falls by *StopScreamGraphy

Taskbar text icons: here!

Used in the preview: 580 by ~Zim2687

Check out *cathycatchy and ~Brandon-G for matching app skins!

Edit: if you have issues with your taskbar showing blank buttons with no text/icons you need to set your taskbar properties to "always combine, hide labels"

Nautilus for Windows 7 by =Nittiyh This visual style is unique. Nittiyh had a incredible sense of structure, making the dark background and red lines fit fine without confusing your eyes. A very recommended piece. ( Suggested by burnsplayguitar and Featured by fediaFedia )

Hi, it works fine and is very beautiful :)
There is only 2 things that "bother" me : I can't put the taskbar to the top like I usually do, it seems there is no image for the buttons; and texts are too small on my screen (there is a little distance between me and my screen, like 2 meters).
Well, otherwise it's a great work, I love it.

Thank you! Yeah the taskbar is only skinned for bottom use. About the font, you could just uninstall the font I provided in the download, that could help a little bit.

Great visual style for 7.  Love the minimalistic look and feel.
A problem though, v5 of start button changer isn't working for some reason, and v2.6 only works with .bmp's.  Is there anyway you could upload a .bmp version of the start orb that goes with these styles?

Hmm, an interesting thought.  I tried an online converter and it didn't work.  This one almost worked, but left me with this:
i59.tinypic.com/2mwv2n6.png
A strange white boxy background.  Sorry, I know it's not your job to troubleshoot for me. I do have another orb I can use that sort of matches the theme but of course it's not as pretty ;)

That's weird! It should work since it's a 32 bit BMP with alpha channel transparency. Not sure what else I can do :/

A very nice and simple skin :) I really want to use this one, but I can't figure out how to since my English is not so good (A friend of mine is translating this message as I write) But I leave this comment because I want to learn how to make a theme like this on my own. Can you teach me how?

Thanks for the nice words :D I have instructions on how to use the theme (they're in the .rar file download).
To make a theme yourself you will need a program called Ave's Windows StyleBuilder. It's not free but it's the best and easiest way to do it.
Once you have bought StyleBuilder, you get access to the forums which have some very nice guides and tips on how to start :)

Best W7 theme I've seen, by far. I'm hoping you'll make a white and orange version though, like you did for Planisphere. That would be the cherry on top for me.

Thank you so much! Actually, I tried to do that and it just didn't work for some reason. It didn't look quite right to me, so I decided not to go further with it.
But I definitely want to do more things with orange in the next themes I make :)

I understand. You could simply use the bottom taskbar with small icons (as mentioned in the install notes, that's the only fully supported option, since that's the only one I use) or you could go ahead and mod the theme yourself with Ave's StyleBuilder to make the side taskbar work :) it's not very difficult to do but if you have no interest in making your own themes it's probably not worth the trouble since StyleBuilder is not free and there's a bit of learning to do.
But if you decide to go with the second option I can guide you and tell you where to look and stuff.

I'll use the small icons options, can't I make the tabs smaller? they're a lot larger than they should, and I would like them smaller.

That's part of the design :D They'll size themselves based on how many icons you have pinned on your taskbar, so if you want them smaller, pin more stuff! :)

Hey man, been a fan of your themes since XP. Are you still using Windows and if so do you have any themes for the new Windows 8/8.1 OS? I've also been trying to startmaking my own themes and skins but no matter how hard I search, I can't seem to find any in depth tutorials or sites to go about learning how to theme and skin windows. I cant even seem to find an updated application to get my hands dirty with. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hey, thanks a lot! I'm using Windows 8 and 8.1 at the moment but I haven't made any themes for them yet. Maybe I'll get a few done this summer ;)
Your best bet is to get a copy of Ave's StyleBuilder, that's what most of us use. It's not free but it's cheap and the app is WELL worth the money as we have been getting free updates for years (support started with Windows Vista and it supports 7, 8 and 8.1)
Also they have a special forum on their website for people who have a legit license and it's filled with useful resources to help you achieve what you want to do.
One thing I would mention though is that if you're going to do it, I strongly suggest you either do it all in a virtual machine, or you make sure you don't mind having to reformat your computer once in a while.
Make backups ;) WIndows 8 doesn't like it too much when you mess with system files so you often run into trouble.

Thats fine, I'll get used to it soon enough. Is there any way to re-enable the taskbar flashing and/or change the width of the taskbar icons? Amazing theme btw!

Sadly, the taskbar flashing cannot be re-enabled. It's possible to change the width of the taskbar items, but I can't do it myself, as I'm not on Windows 7 anymore. But you'll need to have StyleBuilder to do it.

I've got Windows Style Builder yes, whereabouts do I go to change it?
Reply
:iconnittiyh:
Nittiyh Featured By Owner Mar 7, 2014  Student Interface Designer
In Windows StyleBuilder, navigate to "Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Basic > TaskBand > TaskItemButton" and as well "Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Basic > TaskBand (SmallIcons) > TaskItemButton" and change the first 2 values of the content margins to whatever number you want. It should be at 100, so if you want the items to be narrower you'll have to decrease that.

Great skin, first looking good enough to risk customizing my system files, but i have one question, Icons on my taskbar are not in centre, but aligned to the left. They were centered on first launch, but after restart they are not. You know what can cause this?

Ah you just need to pin more stuff to the taskbar if you want it to take up all the space. If I recall correctly it's set to be max 200px wide or something like that :)

Oh, ok. thank you. One last question, I have to set each icon manually (both explorer's and navigation bar) or there's a tool for that? I mean icons you linked in previous comments :D

For the taskbar I think you'll have to do it manually, but here's an easy tutorial to do it: www.howtogeek.com/howto/28847/…
For explorer icons there's a few apps that can do it for you, like iconpackager or TuneUp Utilities, which I personnaly prefer.
